Creative Play with Maggie Nicols -
Anything can happen when we open to The Muse and let ourselves be inspired.
Improvisation is a natural part of our everyday lives, something we are not always aware of, because of the straitjackets which we find ourselves in. When we focus creatively and trust the muse, magic and liberation can be experienced. The workshop will start with warm ups that bring about the relaxed awareness which awakens the imagination and invites the muse to play with us. From there we will explore a variety of strong, simple structures that encourage freedom of expression. The aim is to build a creative vocabulary that can be expressed spontaneously,in any form that feels safe and inspiring; vocally, instrumentally, through movement, theatre ,painting, dialogue etc
Everyone is creative. It is a birthright. In our different rhythms together we are all magnificent.
All welcome.
Sunday May 12th @ 11am

The conductor will freely choose his or her cues for conducting spontaneously, following the inspiration of the moment. The cues are not pre-arranged. The only rule for the conductors is to use the body, not the voice. The voice will come from the choir only. Everybody can have a go at conducting the choir. The choir responds as a unique organism, as in the original tradition of Greek Choir, naturally attuning its response to the cues. This workshop is open to everybody, so come and check it out!"

“Art is mostly experienced as the aftermath of the creative process. It may be composed, rehearsed, performed or recorded and as such it is but a reflection of that process. Improvisation, as a premise, invites the artist and spectator to share a moment and witness art as a unique event as it emerges, truly in the here and now” - Illi Adato, Artistic Director, Art of the Moment.
